This picture was the inspiration behind Bunnylou. “Bunny” and “Baby Lou” were terms of endearment our children were called when they were wee little ones. I remember how Baby Lou detested her bob cut with bangs because it interfered with her vision when she played tiny tot soccer, and how Bunny Boy was full of boundless energy, jumping, running, and hopping everywhere and exhaustedly collapsing into a deep slumber with his stuffed toy bunny by his bedside. This website is dedicated to them and to all children around the world – energetic, playful, sweet, kind, adorable, young and old, cute (with bangs or no bangs), and especially to the ones who lost their toys, homes, and even friends and families due to conflicts and disasters. I hope the stories, pictures, and lessons presented here will bring a glimmer of hope, a spark of joy, some inspiration, and a little peaceful feeling from the Land of Lilac Mae. And, for the dreamers like me: take the plunge, forge into the unknown, go beyond your comfort zone, face your fears – however way you say it, don’t let go of that dream and the aspiration to follow your passion, and persevere – no matter what. It took me more than 15 years to get here, and I’m hopping on new ground. And yes, the grass looks definitely greener.
