At last! After many weeks of illustrating these pictures to go with the story, Eabon is ready to soar (the 2 pictures here are the opening and closing "scenes" of the "book": https://www.bunnylou.com/the-bird-that-did-not-fly). Would you believe that this story was completed in 2001? It also took months of many changes to get it to its final form. I submitted it to several publishers for consideration but "unfortunately, it does not suit our present publishing program" as the form letters read. I made a further tweak by deciding on the name "Eabon." It was just "Bird" up until 4 weeks ago. The name gives reference to the Filipino word for the critter, and to make our protagonist more relatable. So, here's Eabon's story for everyone to read. I will find ways to make a book form for it - whether through a publishing house (do I really want to try peddling the story again?) or self-publish it. Read the story to your little ones and engage their interest with the pictures. I would love to hear your feedback, and your children's reaction/interaction to Eabon's courage and adventures.
